Your College Board account

  1. Go to My AP (opens in a new tab) and create your College Board account with your @nycstudents.net email. This lets TvF track your registration and help if you get locked out. Make only one account.
  2. Join your AP class in My AP with the join code your AP teacher gives you in the fall.
  3. Before you graduate, change the email on your College Board account to a personal email, such as a Gmail address. You need this account after high school to see your scores and send them to colleges.

AP scores come out in July. Students see them by signing in to their College Board account.

On exam day

Be on time

Morning exams start at 9:00 a.m. and afternoon exams at 12:00 p.m. (noon). Be in your testing room before the start time.

School devices and Bluebook

Every exam is taken on a school device in Bluebook, College Board's testing app. AP Calculus AB is a hybrid exam: multiple-choice questions are in Bluebook and free-response answers are written in a paper booklet.

Phones away

Phones, smartwatches and other devices must be turned off and put away for the whole exam, including breaks. College Board can cancel the scores of a student who uses one.

Testing accommodations

College Board has to approve AP testing accommodations separately from an IEP or 504 plan. Nate Carroll can help with questions.
